Clarence Mike Marczak was born on May 24, 1923 in Royal Township, Lincoln County, MN to Anton and Cecelia (Sik) Marczak. The oldest of nine children, he grew up working the family farm. In 1950, he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Korea until 1951. He married Alice Tilbury on Nov. 24, 1953 and gained five step-children through that union. They lived and farmed in Underwood Township until 1959, when they moved to Redwood Falls, MN. Alice passed away on Nov. 24, 1961.

On Oct. 21, 1967 he married Roberta “Bobbi” Jean Hanson in Redwood Falls. They made their home there until 1975, when they moved their family of five children to Glenwood, MN, where they lived until their deaths. He owned and operated a resort on Lake Minnewaska, drove school bus, worked in a machine shop, and did carpentry work. He enjoyed farming so much that he helped a family friend with planting and harvest many springs and falls. Family was always important to Clarence and Bobbi, and they enjoyed hosting many family events at the resort. They also spent a lot of time fishing on Lake Minnewaska and playing cards with family and friends. Clarence and Bobbi were members at Glenwood Lutheran Church, where Clarence served as an usher for over 25 years. Clarence could also be found tinkering with cars, lawn mowers, and anything else with a motor. He prided himself on being able to do home repairs himself. After Bobbi’s death in 1996, Clarence expanded his card playing to the local Senior Center, where he also helped to run the card games. He did his best to attend as many family events as he could over the years. He loved visiting with his step-children and their families and also looked forward to attending the annual Marczak family reunions each summer and camped through the weekend most years.

He is survived by his children: Ricky Marczak of Las Vegas, NV, Donavin Marczak of Fergus Falls, MN, Clarence (Jill) Marczak Jr of Hancock, MN, Micholene Marczak of Fargo, ND, and Heather (Brad) Jongeward of Glenwood, MN; step-children Gene Tilbury of Milford, IN and Shirley Peters of Redwood Falls, MN; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 20 step-grandchildren, 37 step-great-grandchildren, 66 step-great-great-grandchildren; brothers Floyd Marczak, Anton (Carol) Marczak Jr., Edward (Marlys) Marczak, and James Marczak; sisters Helen Mead, Lorraine Taveirne, and Diane (Julius) Walters; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first and second wives, his brother, Alvin, his step-sons, Robert and Lowell Tilbury, his step-daughter, Lois Payonk, granddaughter, Kaylee Katherine Marczak, great grandson, Zachariah William Michael Hippe and step-great-great-granddaughter, Madeline Brook Sanchez.
