Jannene K. (Anderson) Hippe Miller

Jannene Anderson Hippe Miller, age 64, of Starbuck, MN, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 6th, at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home, with Rev. Randy Chrissis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at a later date. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Jannene Anderson, daughter of Andrew and Augusta (Jurgens) Anderson, was born on February 13, 1954 in Glenwood, MN. She grew up in Glenwood, where she attended Glenwood Lutheran Church and public school, graduating from Glenwood High School with the Class of 1972. After high school, Jannene moved to St. Cloud, where she completed a two year business course at St. Cloud Business College. After receiving her degree, she returned to Glenwood, where she was employed at Lakeview Care Center for 14 years.

On November 19, 1977, Jannene and Harold Hippe were united in marriage at Glenwood Lutheran Church. They made their home in Glenwood and were blessed with two sons, Andrew and Nathan. Jannene and Harold divorced in 1989. Two years later, Jannene moved to Alaska to marry Allan Miller, formerly of Starbuck. To their marriage two daughters were born, Ashleigh and Kimberlee. Jannene and Allan divorced in 2002, and in 2007, she returned to the Glenwood area and reconciled with her former husband, Harold Hippe. She and Harold have since resided in Starbuck.

Jannene enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, gardening, camping, traveling, beading and skiing. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She had a passion for the outdoors and a need for adventure. Her vibrant personality and sense of humor made her fun to be around and her strong-willed nature was balanced out with a kind heart and free spirit.

Jannene passed away unexpectedly at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood on Monday, February 26, 2018, at the much too young age of 64. May her memory be blessed.

She is survived by her former husband and current companion, Harold Hippe of Starbuck; two sons, Andrew (Cenda See) Hippe of Tucson, AZ, and Nathan Hippe of Starbuck; two daughters, Ashleigh Miller of Nenana, AK, and Kimberlee (Joshua Fischer) Miller of Fairbanks, AK; three grandchildren, Hailey Marczak, Athina Wilder-Hippe, and Helena Hippe; a brother, Harold “Bill” (LaVonne) Anderson of Boyceville, WI; along with other relatives and friends.

Jannene was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Augusta Anderson; and her sister, Andrea Anderson.
