Robert Bullock Obituary

Robert A. Bullock, age 65, of St. Cloud, MN, and formerly of Glenwood, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Augusta, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5th at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock of Glenwood.

Robert Allan Bullock, the son of Charles and Marie (Olson) Bullock was born on October 26, 1952 in Fergus Falls, MN. He attended Glenwood High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1971. In October of 1972, Rob enlisted in the United States Air Force and served on active duty until April 1974, and then continued serving in the Minnesota and North Dakota Air National Guard until 1979. He attended the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND where he graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology. Rob was employed at the telephone company (Northwestern Bell, US West, Qwest, and Century Link) as a Central Office Technician for 32 years, beginning his career in the Twin Cities and retiring in 2012 from the Little Falls office.

Rob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary (Schott) Kukowski, on August 2, 1991 in the Gammelgarden Chapel at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia. They made their home in Scandia until moving to Sartell in 2001, and most recently they resided in Waite Park.

Rob was a very faith-filled man who enjoyed Bible studies, spending time with his family, and volunteering for various causes including the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store, various events in his community, and was active in his church. He enjoyed anything related to the water, beaches, and sailing including traveling to Clearwater, Florida or the North Shore of Minnesota with his wife and siblings whenever he got the chance.

Rob will be remembered for his steadfast faith in God, his always-positive attitude, and his calm demeanor. He was someone with a ready smile and word of encouragement for anyone who needed it. He enjoyed the quiet life, but was always up for another adventure, planning the next trip or getaway, including looking forward to his final adventure of meeting God on his going home day.

Rob is survived by his wife, Mary Bullock of Waite Park; two sons, Kurt (Becky) Kukowski of Plentywood, MT, and Erik Bullock of Richfield; two grandchildren, Henry and Vera Kukowski of Plentywood, MT; one brother Craig (Pam) Bullock of Concord, NC; two sisters, Elizabeth (Ken) Chan of Glenwood, and Bonita Carlson of Chisago City; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Bullock; nephew, Matthew Chan; infant step-daughter, Jody Kukowski; parents-in-law, Earl and Elizabeth Schott; infant sister-in-law, Denise Schott; and brothers-in law, Kerry, Carlton, and Roger Schott.
