Beatrice C. (Skarhaus) Juliot

Beatrice C. Juliot, age 99, of New Brighton, MN, died Monday, May 29, 2018, at Brightendale Senior Living in New Brighton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 1st, at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood, with Rev. Krista Lee officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Beatrice Caroline, daughter of Gilbert and Elma (Fosse) Skarhaus, was born on November 14, 1918 in Glenwood, MN. She and her family were members of Glenwood Lutheran Church and Beatrice attended school in Glenwood. Beatrice eventually settled in Minneapolis, where she worked for Western Electric for 27 years, doing telephone repair.

Beatrice was united in marriage to Bernard Juliot at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in Northeast Minneapolis, and later in Wyoming, MN, where they had a home on Coon Lake. Beatrice and Bernard enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their RV, including two trips to Alaska, where they ventured all the way to North Pole, Alaska. They enjoyed over 40 years of marriage before Bernard’s death in 2009.

Anyone who knew Beatrice knew how much she loved her family and how much they meant to her. She was also known for her ready and sunny smile, her fabulous pies, and her beautiful gardens.

Beatrice is survived by her son, Bruce Bogie who resides in Mounds View, and his children, Andrea and Andrew; her daughter, Beverly Specht who resides in Elk River, and her children, Jeanie, Theresa, and David; six grandchildren, Jesse, Sunny, Jake, Matthew, Meagan, and Mallory; and one sister, Grace Rittgers of Glenwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Orville, Raymond, and Vernon; her former husband, Jess Bogie (father of Bruce and Beverly); and her late husband, Bernard Juliot and his son, Bernie Jim Juliot.
