David C. Larson

David C. Larson, age 51, of Apopka, FL, and formerly of Glenwood, MN, died Friday, December 28, 2018 at his home. A memorial service will be held at Glenwood Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 12th, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Randy Chrissis officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to the service.

David Charles Larson was born to Linda M. (Foss) Larson and the late Charles M. Larson, on May 16, 1967, at Glenwood, MN. David was baptized and confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church. While in school, he was active in 4-H, showing swine and cattle. He attended school in Glenwood, graduating with the class of 1985. After graduation from high school, he attended Alexandria Technical College for mechanical drafting for two years. Upon completion of the drafting program he worked at various places in the Glenwood area and in Minneapolis.

David was united in marriage to Jodi Outlan on March 3, 2007 at Bear Lake United Methodist Church in Apopka, FL. The two made their home in Apopka, along with Jodi’s two daughters, Kirsti and Katie. David helped raise the girls as if they were his own.  His wish for them was that they graduate from high school and college, something each accomplished. Sadly, Jodi passed away on January 27, 2018, from ALS.  David has missed Jodi since, as she was the love of his life.

David was employed at Five Star Alliance for the past 13 years, working from home two of those years so he could care for his wife. He was a member of the ALS Association. His hobbies included collecting baseball cards and toy airplanes. He enjoyed his yard and outdoor swimming pool.  His favorite pastime was watching the MN Twins and MN Wild. At the time of his death, he was looking forward to his stepdaughter Kirsti’s upcoming wedding, having recently gone with the two girls and two of his good friends to help Kirsti select her wedding dress.

David is survived by his mother, Linda Larson of Glenwood; a brother, Daryl Larson of Glenwood; a sister, Gail (Ronald Reese) Larson of Bloomington, MN; two step-daughters, Kirsti, (finance’ Josh Mack) Outlan and Kati (Jarrett) Lundy, both of Florida; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles in 1998; grandparents, Gunard and Katherine (MacIver) Larson, and Almen and Gladys (Mattson) Foss. 

There will be a memorial service for Dave in Apopka, FL at a later date. He will be buried with his wife at Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka, FL.
