Dona M. (Femrite) Grundseth

Dona M. Grundseth, age 58 of rural Brooten, died peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at home. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Frog Lake Cemetery south of Alberta, Minnesota. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. 

Dona Mavis Femrite was born to Donald and Marge Femrite on August 6, 1960, in the Glenwood Hospital in Glenwood, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1979.

Dona was employed for many years as a nurse’s aide. She also did home health care and delivered advertising paper for most of her adult life. While working at Lakeview Care Center in Glenwood, she met John Grundseth. Dona and John were married August 6, 2011 and made their home on John’s farm near Brooten. At this time, Dona retired from nurse’s aide work. Dona enjoyed counted cross-stitch, scrapbooking, and photography. She was active in the Glenwood Community Garden and Ladies Aid and continued to deliver the paper on the weekends. Dona passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on March 19, 2019.

Dona is survived by her mother, Marjorie Otteson of Greenfield, MO; husband, John Grundseth of rural Brooten; sisters, Michelle and Laura; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, Donald Femrite; an aunt, uncle and a cousin.
