Isabel Pearl Ladd, the daughter of Blanche (Nelson) and Vance Hunter was born June 24, 1918 in Royalton, Minnesota. She grew up on numerous farms attending numerous schools before graduating from Osakis High school in 1936.

On June 6, 1942, Isabel was united in marriage to Roy Daniel Ladd in Sisseton, South Dakota. They made their home in Villard and were members of Villard United Methodist Church. Together Isabel and Roy raised four daughters. The couple shared 42 years of marriage before Roy passed away in 1984.

Isabel was lovingly known as Izzy by family and friends. She was employed at several businesses as a cook in Villard and Glenwood. She cooked for Lake Ida Bible Camp for many years. Izzy was a member of the American Legion, Northside Birthday Club, Villard City Council, TOPS, the Villard PTA, and Lake Leven Cemetery Board. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, crocheting, sewing, auctions, cooking, baking and collecting “depression” glassware. She will be remembered for her positive attitude, kind words, quick wit, “sassy/spunky” humor and her great cooking. She especially loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.
