Marjorie P. Weaver, age 86 of Glenwood, died Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 2nd at All Saint's Chapel in the Glenwood Retirement Village with Pastor Bonnie Lomen officiating. A graveside service with inurnment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 5th in Grandview Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Marjorie Patricia Koppean, daughter of Lloyd and Evelyn “Minnie” (Wood) Koppean, was born June 30, 1932 in Nora, Illinois. She attended school through high school and was raised on the family farm along with her 2 sisters and a brother.
On her 18th birthday, she was united in marriage to Donald Weaver in Freeport, IL. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Donna, Jessica, George, Jeffrey, and Charlotte. Marjorie and Don farmed near Lena, IL for several years before moving to Argyle, WI, where they also farmed. They later moved to Beloit, WI, where they continued to farm until their retirement. After retiring, Marjorie and Don enjoyed traveling around the United States. They shared 47 years of marriage before Don’s death in 1998.
Marjorie later married Don Eckerd and they made their home in Freeport, IL. After Don’s death, she married Harold Bordner, and they also lived in Freeport. Following Harold’s death, Marjorie moved to Glenwood, MN, to be near family. At the time of her death, she was a resident at Glenwood Retirement Village.
Marjorie was a farmer’s daughter and a farmer’s wife. She enjoyed farming, along with raising horses, which she rode and trained. She also raised cows, pigs, chickens and sheep. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching western shows and movies. She had a quick wit, a warm smile, and an unforgettable personality. She passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. Blessed be the memory of Marjorie Patricia Weaver.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Donna (Robert) Stelter of Glenwood and Jessica Robertson of Pearl City, IL; her son, George (Vivian) Weaver of Jarvisburg, NC; as well as several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands, Donald W. Weaver, Donald Eckerd, and Harold Bordner; a daughter, Charlotte M. Weaver in infancy; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Diane Weaver; a son-in-law, Ronald Robertson; 2 sisters, 1 brother, and her beloved dog, Frankie.
