Message from Harley, for the Hanson family through the woods
January 5, 2018 8:39 AM

Times were wild and wonderful when the Serrin family moved onto the property next to the Hanson farm. The woods and workshops were our adventure lands for the close-in-age nine kids between the two families, and Pete helped propel those adventures with creations ranging from a tree house with phone service, iceboats, a restored jeep, exotic trikes-from-bikes and far more. He had a great eye for form & function, and we kids benefitted.

The sixties were a great time to be a kid in our part of the world, a world filled with animals and trees and family and neighbors. Thanks to Pete and the entire Serrin family for helping make it so.

Carol and family, I have such fond memories of Pete and your whole family. As a child he was always so good to the "Kolp" kids and I remember many times my family visiting at your place, Pete showing us all the animals, and riding our horse (which you took care of there). Your whole family was so hospitable and Pete was the "real deal." My dad Bert Kolp liked him so much and Pete would have been among the ones he called "the salt of the earth." May you be comforted by knowing that you all contributed greatly to the rich and full life that he had.

It is sad to learn that you are mourning the loss of Pierce. Please accept my condolences. In the days ahead, you will reflect on seemingly small, yet precious memories. And just as you have memories, our God remembers too. Through Jesus, he has demonstrated among many witnesses, that he will indeed restore life on earth to those in his memory. Therefore, take comfort as you view the video link below:

Our deepest sympathy! Your husband/father/grandfather will be fondly remembered by the community and those visiting the 4area. The animals he loved were appreciated by everyone who drove by as you always looked to see which ones were visible. What great memories he has given all of you and us.
