Susan M. (Krumrey) Farr

Susan Farr, age 71, of Alexandria, MN, and formerly of Brooten, died Tuesday, October 08, 2019, at Alomere Health in Alexandria. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) on Saturday, October 12th at Alexandria Covenant Church, with Pastor John LeVahn officiating. Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Lake Leven Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Susan Margaret Krumrey was born on October 24, 1947, in Bemidji, MN, to Dorothy (Baker) and Robert Krumrey. She grew up on a farm near Bemidji and went to the nearby country school. Later she moved to the Big Lake area where Susan earned her GED at Westonka School. On September 13, 1964, she was united in marriage to Jerome Edward Farr in Champlin by a Hennepin County Justice of the Peace. The two first made their home in Champlin and later moved to Anoka, Coon Rapids, Minneapolis, and Big Lake before settling in Villard in 2000. Susan worked for REO Plastics in Maple Grove for 18 years while the family lived in the Twin Cities.

Susan enjoyed canning the vegetables that Jerome grew in his garden, sewing, and making quilts. Her quilts were wonderful and she graciously shared them with her children and grandchildren. When her children were young she would make homemade bread and she taught her daughters how to cook. She liked to go fishing and often went with her son and grandkids. She was very helpful whenever her children or grandchildren needed anything. She also had a good sense of humor and could actually be quite funny and make people laugh. Her family will remember Susan as loving, caring and very special.

Susan is survived by her son, Chandler (Theresa) Farr of Becker; three daughters, Dorothy (Dave) Keech of New York, Jeannie Farr of Alexandria, and Denise Farr of Alexandria; six grandchildren, Stephanie, David, and Michael Farr, Klarissa and Krystal Eisenbraun, Jeffrey Jr.  (Robin) Stoltman and Jeffrey’s father, Jeffrey Stoltman Sr.; five great-grandchildren, Miracle, Jeffrey III, Lester, and Christian Stoltman and Zoey Vilendrer; one half-brother, Norman Risland; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy; her husband, Jerome Farr in 2008; a sister, Dorothy Jackson; two brothers, Bobby and Carroll Krumrey; three nephews, Damon Krumrey, Risty and Greg Risland; two aunts, Peggy Doyle and Ruth Boyd; a granddaughter, Crystal Marie; and two great-granddaughters, Mary Ann and Sabrina Stoltman; and half-brother, David Risland.
