Obituary

Amanda Thompson, age 26 of Fargo, formerly Glenwood, died as the results of injuries from an automobile accident on March 10, 2022. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16th at Glenwood Lutheran Church with Rev. Krista Lee officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 15th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Amanda Michelle Thompson was born October 3, 1995 in Glenwood. She was the older of two daughters born to Michael and Leslie Thompson. She grew up in Glenwood where she attended school and was a member of Glenwood Lutheran Church. She graduated from Minnewaska Area High School in 2014. After high school she furthered her education attending Moorhead State in Moorhead. She earned her bachelor's degree in Information Technology in just three years. While going to school she interned for ByteSpeed Computer. After graduation she continued to work there until 1 ½ years ago when she started working for Erickson Dental in their Fargo, North Dakota branch. She loved working there; enjoying the people as well as the work she did.

In high school, Amanda was active in the Minnewaska swim team, band, choir, and was a lifeguard at the Glenwood beach. She enjoyed swimming, riding bike, and working out; she enjoying staying active to stay in shape. Amanda got to meet and spend the last five years with the love of her life, Danny Mathison. She truly cherished every moment they spent together. She will be remembered for her smile, her kindness, her quirky faces, and her sense of adventure and love of the outdoors.

She is survived by her parents, Mike and Leslie Thompson and her little sister, Katelyn Thompson all of Glenwood; her significant other, Danny Mathison of West Fargo; her grandpa and grandma Warren and Marian Thompson of Brooten; grandma, Fran Thomas of Plantation, FL; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa, Lou Thomas, great-grandmothers, Martha Baalson and Olive Thompson.
