Annie Sherbrooke, age 90 of Glenwood, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 20th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Annie Pauline Sherbrooke the daughter of Joseph and Annie (Renner) Biewer was born December 10, 1924, in Lidgerwood, North Dakota. She grew up on a farm in Lidgerwood where she attended country school.
On August 26, 1954, Annie was united in marriage to Robert Sherbrooke at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead. The couple made their home in Cormorant Village and were blessed with four children. They moved to Glenwood six years ago to be closer to their family. Annie and Robert celebrated their 60th Anniversary in August.
Annie was a loving homemaker and worked with Robert running Sherbrooke Trucking. She was an integral part of the business, answering phones, doing the finances and secretarial work. She belonged to St. Mary of the Lakes ladies group and a homemaker's club. Annie enjoyed the outdoors especially gardening (vegetables and flowers), fishing, and mowing the lawn with her John Deere riding lawn tractor. She also found time to sew quilts, crochet afghans, cook and can fruits and vegetables for the family. Everyone enjoyed the caramel rolls that were made for family gatherings. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Annie is survived by her husband, Robert Sherbrooke of Glenwood; son, Randy (Cheryl) Sherbrooke of Eden Prairie; daughters, Donna (Donnie) Ziemann of Anoka, Pat (Alan) Bryce of Glenwood and Vicki Johnson of Aitkin; grandchildren, Chris (Beth), Joe (Lacy), and Jacob (Jenna) Bryce and Valerie (Ryan) Petersen, Chad and Natalie Sherbrooke and Jenna and Justine Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Biewer and Adeline Sherbrooke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Jean Ziemann siblings, Nick, Charlie, Agnes, Francie, Helen, Marie, Clara, Louise and Irene.
