Arnold "Punky" Johnson, age 63, of Glenwood, MN, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.  A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 8th, at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood, with Pastor Peter Reishus officiating.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service.  Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood. Arnold (Punky) Leroy Johnson, son of Hilmer and Alice (Genung) Johnson, was born on May 9, 1950, in Glenwood, MN.  He grew up in Glenwood and was a graduate of Glenwood High School.  On March 30, 1974, he entered the US Navy and served until his honorable discharge on April 26, 1977. Arnold could carry on a conversation with anyone.  He was employed as a semi-truck driver, delivering goods all over the continental United States.  He also owned and operated a canvas repair business out of Detroit Lakes and St. Cloud, MN. Arnold was proud of his Chippewa heritage.  He thoroughly enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, reading, and was a big John Wayne fan.  His family is comforted by the fact that he recently spoke of having "gotten to do everything he ever wanted to do in his lifetime." Arnold died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Glacial Ridge Hospital, having lived to the age of 63 years.  God bless his memory. Arnold is survived by his sons, Brandon (Abby) of Alexandria, MN, JD (Nerissa) of Fargo, and Andrew; daughters, Tina of Starbuck, Sherry, Shelly, and Nikki; numerous grandchildren, including Reagan Aileen Johnson, the newest addition to the family; great-grandchildren;  2 sisters, Barb (Pat)  Kepner and Kathy (Denny) Ryan of St. Cloud, MN; 4 brothers, Kenny (Bev) Johnson, Brad (Martha) Johnson, Bruce (Della) Johnson of Glenwood, MN, and Ron (Deb) Johnson of Glenwood, MN; as well as his significant other, Deb Kinney of Glenwood, MN. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Hilmer and Alice Johnson; and two brothers, Richard and Paul Johnson.
