Berdon "Pocky" Neros age 101 of Glenwood, died May 27, 2014 at the Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 16th at Barsness Park in Glenwood.  Inurnment was in Leonard, North Dakota.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Berdon T. "Pocky" Neros, the son of Iver and Synnove (Strande) Neros was born October 29, 1912 in Enderlin, North Dakota.  He grew up in Enderlin where he attended school. On September 24, 1940, Berdon was united in marriage to Elvera Hahn in Enderlin.  They made their home there until 1946 when they moved to Leonard, North Dakota.  In Leonard, they owned and operated Neros Variety Store. In 1964, Berdon and Elvera moved to Glenwood, as a job transfer for the Soo Line Railroad.  Berdon was employed for the Soo Line Railroad in Enderlin and Glenwood for 32 years. Pocky was a member of the Leonard Lions Club and the Soo Line Vets.  He enjoyed golf and was an original stockholder in the Leonard Golf Course.  Pocky will be remembered as being very proud of his Norwegian heritage, was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed puzzling little kids with his bird whistles. He is survived by his son, Craig Neros of Saint Michael, MN; grandchildren: Kris, Jody, Kelly and Traci, and many great-grandchildren. Berdon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elvera of 63 years; and son, Bruce.
