Bruce W. Haugen, age 58, of Alexandria, MN, died Friday, August 5, 2016, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 10th, at Shalom Community Lutheran Church in Starbuck, with Pastor Becky Worner officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home in Glenwood and will resume on Wednesday at the church in Starbuck, one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Haugen Family Cemetery. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.
Bruce W. Haugen, son of Warren and Gladys (Vollrath) Haugen, was born on October 22, 1957 in Glenwood, Minnesota. He grew up in Glenwood and he graduated from Glenwood High School in 1976.
His most recent employment was at Total-Fab in Glenwood, Minnesota and a welder and assembler for two years. Other employment he proudly remembered was working the pipeline as a welder's assistant and working for 11 ½ years as a delivery driver for American Business Forms in Starbuck, Minnesota. Earlier this year, Bruce opened a small engine repair shop.
On May 17, 2014, he was united in marriage to Marlys Lundebrek at Shalom Community Lutheran Church in Starbuck, Minnesota. They made their home in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Bruce enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, spending time with family and on the family farm.
Bruce will be remembered for his smiles, laughter and sharing stories about family. He had a very good memory and remembered everyone's birthdays. He always enjoyed spending time with family, and he was very proud of all of his children.
He is survived by his wife, Marlys Haugen of Alexandria; sons, Josh (Jen) Haugen of Starbuck, Jake (Rosemary) Haugen of Caddo Mills, TX, Ben Haugen of Minneapolis and one daughter, Maggie Haugen of Lake Park, MN; five grandchildren, Sydney, Lizzie, Bella, Emmet and Gunnar; brothers, Cory Haugen of Glenwood and Brian Haugen of Lowry, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Gladys Haugen, baby brother Brent; sister, Deb Haugen and brother, Barry Haugen.
