Bruce D. Mulvaney, age 77, of Glenwood, MN, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at his residence in rural Glenwood.  No services are scheduled.  If that changes, the date and time will be announced.

Bruce Dodge Mulvaney was born October 25, 1938, in Fargo, North Dakota.  He was the son of Matthew Eugene and Lorenda (Dodge) Mulvaney.  While growing up his family lived in Fargo, ND, Minneapolis, MN, and Deerfield Beach, FL.  Bruce attended John Burroughs Grade School and Washburn High School before graduating from Pompano Beach High School in 1956.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1963, after which he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 1967.

Bruce was united in married to Barbara Ann Butt on September 17, 1966.  The two made their home in Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, and moved to Glenwood in 1998. Bruce was employed at Honeywell Bull and Information Systems from 1964 to 1996.  He was the author or co-author of seven technical publications in the field of Biology, one patent (No. 3,814,687), and one patent pending.  He was also a founding member of the Freshwater Foundation and the Minnesota Wildlife Heritage Foundation, as well as a member of the Bluebird Recovery Program and the Pope County Humane Society in Glenwood, Minnesota.  Bruce volunteered in the RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) through which he delivered Meals on Wheels in Glenwood.  He also volunteered with the Department of Natural Resources.  Bruce was an avid outdoors man and loved pheasant hunting with his golden retrievers especially with his bud "Tucker." He also enjoyed fishing, whenever the season.

Bruce is survived by wife, Barbara Mulvaney, of Glenwood; a sister, Susan Dodge Copeland and her husband, Robert, of Brevard, North Carolina; as well as two nephews, Jeff and Todd Copeland.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Eugene Mulvaney in December 1960, and his mother, Lorenda Dodge Mulvaney in November 1992.
