Bruce Lyle VanMeveren, age 56 of Brooten, died Monday, September 30, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A private family service will be held.

Bruce VanMeveren, the son of Arvie and Gloria (Elwood) VanMeveren was born September 7, 1963 in Glenwood. He grew up in Grove Lake and attended school in Glenwood. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, reading and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a generous man who was always helping others and trying to make them smile and laugh, and his ability to draw and make stuff out of wood.

He is survived by his mother, Gloria VanMeveren of Grove Lake; son, Jacob (April) Dean of Claremont, MN; daughter Amanda (Chris) McCoy of Pelican Rapids; grandchildren: Blake, Zak, Sierra, Chance, Adriana, Autumn and Avery; sisters, Cindy Morrison and Sara (Dan) Jasmer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Arvie VanMeveren.
