Obituary

Carroll Anderson, age 68 of Lowry, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8th at the Lowry Community Covenant Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Trysil Cemetery in rural Douglas County. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Carroll Eugene Anderson, the son of Gilman and Gladys (Aslagson) Anderson was born January 30, 1949 in Glenwood. He grew up on a farm near Lowry where he attended school and Ben Wade Community Covenant Church in Lowry.

Carroll farmed with his Dad and brothers on the family farm his entire life. He belonged to the Pope County LAC. In August 1973, Carroll was united in marriage to Judy Jensen in Cyrus, Minnesota. Carroll and Judy made their home on the farm near Lowry. The couple later divorced.

Carroll enjoyed fishing, attending auction sales, playing cards with his friends, tending to his cats, reading and drawing. He also enjoyed going to threshing bees, camping and traveling to Texas. Carroll especially loved spending time with his three sons. He enjoyed the music scene with his musician son, Justin.  Carroll will be remembered as being a loving and supportive father; his generous helping hand, hard work, his love of fishing and spending time with his sons and family. Carroll passed away on January 3, 2018 at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, Minnesota.

Carroll is survived by his sons: Jerome (Liza) Anderson of Otsego, MN, Justin Anderson of Lowry and Jordan (Nikki) Anderson of Starbuck; grandchildren, Nataya Anderson, Emily Anderson, Zoey Rutten and Skyler Rutten; sister, Angeline (Robert) Ort of Inez, TX; brothers, Marvin (Sandy) Anderson of Kensal, ND and Leslie Anderson of Arizona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilman and Gladys Anderson and brothers, DuWayne and Kermit Anderson.
