Charles "Chuck" Levern Walker was born on April 23, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the second of three children born to Claire and Virgie (Schwantz) Walker. He spent his early years in Minneapolis before his family moved to Alexandria when he was 12 years old. He attended school in Alexandria and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1969, carrying with him the values of faith, family, and responsibility that would guide him throughout his life.

It was during a trip to visit cousins in the Bertha area that Chuck met Lucille Lee, the young woman who would become the love of his life. After high school, Chuck moved to Minneapolis and found work as a machinist. He and Lucy were married on September 20, 1969, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bertha, and they began their life together in St. Louis Park. Their marriage became the foundation of a beautiful family and a partnership that lasted 56 years.

A few years later, Chuck accepted a position with Glenwood Manufacturing, and the family moved to Glenwood. In 1974, Chuck and Lucy purchased property near Villard, where they embraced the rural lifestyle and raised their three children. Chuck was a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family while also making sure there was time for the things that mattered most. He was employed as a machinist and foreman at Glenwood Manufacturing for 45 years before his retirement. He took great pride in his meticulous work and the dependable life they built.

Chuck was a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Villard, where he served on the Parish Council and as a Trustee. His faith was an important part of his life, and he lived it through his actions, his generosity, and the quiet strength he showed to others. He was known as a handy, gentle, and thoughtful man, someone who could be counted on to help, listen, and care deeply for the people around him.

Above all else, Chuck's greatest joy was his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, who brought endless pride to his life. He treasured every moment spent with them, passing down his passion for the outdoors, nature, and the quiet patience of bowhunting. A proud family man through and through, he never missed an opportunity to speak highly of his family to anyone who would listen. His grandchildren will fondly remember his quiet, gentle sense of humor - which always kept them smiling - as well as his simple, legendary love for ice cream and chips. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and an enduring love for both the outdoors and the family he held so dear.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lucy Walker of Villard; their three children, Chris (Lori) Walker of St. Cloud, Paul (Bonni) Walker of Albany, and Katie (Jared) Swanson of Glenwood; eight grandchildren, Nigel, Kyla, Tyler, Trista, Ethan, Callianna, Ella, and Bryce; his sister, Joanne (Kim) Srock of Alexandria; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claire and Virgie, his sister, Diane McIntire, father-in-law, Erving Lee, and mother-in-law, Isadora Lee.

"When I see all those arrows and think of all the good times, realize that it is very important to get all your kids and grandkids and anybody else you can into bowhunting. It's more than just getting someone to drag your deer out for ya. It's a learning thing and a lifestyle." - Chuck Walker
