He grew up in Glenwood, MN, and belonged to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was baptized and confirmed. He attended high school in Glenwood and was a member of the Class of 1973. He also attended the Minneapolis Technical Institute.
David, or Garcia as he was known to his friends, entered the U.S. Army in January of 1972. He served in Okinawa, Japan, attaining the rank of Private First Class. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the National Wildlife Turkey Federation (NWTF). His passion in life was first and foremost his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Sunday night drives in the country with his brothers.
David, or "Deedo" as his family called him, will be remembered for his deep faith, love of family, his appreciation for the simple things in life like a good nap, good coffee and chocolate, his wonderful sense of humor, and his warm, welcoming personality.
