Obituary

Dennis L. Danielson, age 73, of Farwell, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug 16th at 11 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lowry, MN, with Pastor Joe Skogmo officiating.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in Glenwood and will resume on Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at Norunga Lutheran Cemetery, rural Lowry.  Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Dennis LeRoy Danielson was born in Alexandria, MN on March 6, 1943. He was the eldest of eight children born to Clinton and Lorraine (Larson) Danielson. He grew up on the family farm near Lowry and attended District 98 country school, Farwell Public School and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Lonnie Jean Dynda on August 20, 1966 and they were blessed with a daughter, Michele and a son, Mark. Dennis and Lonnie were only 10 short days away from celebrating their golden anniversary when he passed.

They made their home briefly in Alex and Starbuck before settling down in Glenwood in 1973.  Dennis worked at Grant Hustad Company until 1984 and then moved to Farwell for four years to farm with two of his brothers. He returned to Hustad's and the Glenwood house in 1988, retiring in 1996. In 1993, they moved back to the country and have been there ever since.

During his lifetime, Dennis was a member of the Jaycees, Masons, Glenwood Lutheran, Norunga Lutheran, and the Ben Wade Township Board. He also played on numerous softball and bowling leagues. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, planting trees, splitting wood, bonfires, Saturday meetings with his brothers, time with his family and enjoying what God has created in nature.

We will remember him for being a wonderful family man, appreciating life and all it has to offer, his love of the land, seeing the value in everything and teaching us the importance to be respectful, a hard worker, and to always do your best in everything you do.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Lonnie of Farwell; daughter, Michele (Tony) Torgerson of St. Cloud; son, Mark (Katie) of Glenwood; grandchildren: Andrew, Sophia, John, Cacee and Kendall; seven siblings: Duane (Jeannie) of Alexandria, Darrel (Brenda) of Lowry, Dean (Joanne) of Mason City, IA, Linda (Jon) Rudell of Hoffman, Curt (Marj) of Farwell, Shirley (Dave) Mork of Duluth, and Bob (Jan) of Glenwood; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Hoplin of Glenwood and Helen Dynda of New Hope; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Lorraine Danielson.

Blessed be his memory.
