Dennis "Denny" Feuerhake, age 77, of rural Brooten, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 29 th , at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove Lake. Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Grove Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.
Dennis Edward Feuerhake the son of Emil and Bernice (Johnson) Feuerhake was born June 19, 1938 in Trimont, Minnesota. He grew up in Trimont and graduated from Trimont High School in 1956. On October 14, 1956, Dennis was united in marriage to Rosie Eggestein in Iowa. They made their home in Sherburn, Minnesota where Denny owned and operated a gas station, Denny's DX. In 1959, Denny and Rosie moved to Truman. While living in Truman, Denny was employed at Pearson Feed. In the spring of 1963, the couple moved to rural Brooten to begin dairy farming. The couple shared 31 years of marriage before Rosie passed away in 1987. Denny retired in 2000, but continued to help on the farm until he passed away.
Denny was a draft horseman and was fond of the percheron draft horses. He also enjoyed antique tractors. He restored, operated and collected a variety of antique tractors. He liked to use the tractors in shows and tractor pulls. Denny will be remembered for his friendly smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his son, Joe Feuerhake of rural Brooten; daughter, Deb (Mark) Vallevand of Lino Lakes, MN; grandchildren: Kimberly (Travis) Gause, Ben, Brett and Bryce Feuerhake; great-granddaughter, Alexis Gause; sister, Karen (Gary) Eakin of Spirit Lake, IA; brother-in-law, Merrill (Anne) Eggestein of Jackson, MN; daughter-in-law, Kristi; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosie; son, Steve; sister, Dawn and daughter-in-law, Wendy.
