Dennis E. Hofmann, age 67 of Brooten, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 18 ^th at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Chapel in Brooten with Father Peter Kirchner officiating.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday at 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home in Brooten.  Interment will be in the St. Donatus Catholic Cemetery in Brooten.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten.

Dennis Edward Hofmann, the son of Walter and Irene (Rose) Hofmann was born April 29, 1948 in Crow Lake Township, Stearns County, Minnesota.  He grew up on a farm near Belgrade until 1960 when they moved to Brooten.  Dennis attended Brooten High School and graduated in 1966.  After high school, he furthered his education at the Willmar Vocational School.

Dennis was self-employed and worked with his dad moving houses, grain bins, and farming.  He also owned and operated Hofmann sanitation with his dad and brother until he retired.  Dennis was a member of St. Donatus Catholic Church in Brooten.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping.  Playing cards and visiting with friends was also a favorite pastime of his.  Dennis passed away on November 12, 2015 at the Belgrade Nursing Home in Belgrade.

He is survived by his brothers, Robert (Margaret) Hofmann of Brooten and David Hofmann of New Ulm, MN; nieces and nephews, Bernice Kral, Keven Hofmann, Mark Hofmann, Allen Hofmann, Kurt Hofmann, Donald Hofmann Jr., Leslie Murdock and Brian Hofmann; other relatives and friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marlin, Donald and Vernon Hofmann and niece, Margo Hofmann.
