Ervin Mithun, age 68 of Albany Oregon, died Monday, June 19, 2017 at Albany General Hospital in Oregon.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 ^th at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Chapel in Glenwood.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Ervin Myron Mithun, son of Ellert and Marlys (Alsaker) Mithun was born on May 3, 1949 in Starbuck, MN.

Ervin was blessed with 5 children.

After growing up and living in various towns in Minnesota, Ervin eventually made his home in Oregon. He retired and sold his business, Grampa's Grocery's in January 2017 after 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion, where he loved to play bingo.

Ervin loved to spend time with his family going fishing, family trips, playing games, telling jokes and laughing at them. When he visited MN, he had to eat at White Castle and buy Old Dutch Rip-L Potato Chips.

He was very much loved by his family and community.

Ervin is survived by his wife Melea of Albany, OR; children Shareen Miller (Mark) of Churchton, MD, Denise Hjelmstad of Fergus Falls, MN, Korie Mithun of Alexandria, MN, John Mithun of Fredericksburg, VA, and Chris Romviel of Albany, OR; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Marlene (Steve) Braun of Coon Rapids, MN, Helen (Tim) Rannow of Coon Rapids, MN, Nancy (David) Armstrong of Glenwood, MN; brother Gary (Barbara) Mithun of West St. Paul, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maisie Schumann and former wife, Marie Hall.
