Esther MacGregor, age 85 of Glenwood, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 19 ^th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Villard, with Pastor Philip Beyersdorf officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be on Friday, May 20 ^th at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Moorhead, Minnesota. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Esther MacGregor was born September 25, 1930 at home in Seattle, Washington to Norwegian immigrants Sigurd and Ingrid (Jensen) Brudie. When Esther was a young child her family moved to a small farm in Kirkland, Washington where she was raised, graduating from high school in 1948. She attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, graduating in 1953 with a degree in elementary education. She taught first and second grade in Aberdeen and Burien, WA.  While in Burien she met Donald MacGregor. They were united in marriage on July 5, 1958 in Kirkland. They made their home in Burien, later moving to Kent, WA, Wheaton and West Chicago, IL then to a farm in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. After Don's retirement they moved to Tyler, Minnesota and most recently to Glenwood.

Esther enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, reading and gardening. She had a strong faith and taught Sunday school for many years. Esther especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don, of Glenwood; sons: Steve (Lori) of Plainview, NE, Phil (Barb) of Kalispell, MT and Keith (Wendy) of Salem OR; daughter, Anne (Jan Gordon) Paulson of Glenwood; grandchildren: Sondra (Todd) Kirckof, Erin (fiancé John Fox) Paulson, Laura and Matthew Paulson, Nick, Sarah (fiancé Skyler Knust) MacGregor, Sophie MacGregor, Michelle (Kortny) Schramm, Erika (Tim) Rehbein, Nathan MacGregor, Bryce and Katterlea MacGregor and 2 great-grandchildren, Ben and Charlotte Kirckof; sister, Irene (Dave) Fisher, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Alice (Al) Wright; brother-in-law, Bill MacGregor and sister-in-law, Joyce MacGregor.
