Glen A. Pederson, age 71, of Glenwood, MN, died Friday, October 25, 2013, at Glenwood Village Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday at All Saint's Chapel in Glenwood Retirement Village, with Pastor Ginger Beck officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday at All Saint's Chapel. Inurnment in East Zion Lutheran Cemetery will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.
Glen A. Pederson, was born on March 17, 1942, in Starbuck, MN. He was the fourth of five children born to Mearine and Nora (Nelson) Pederson. Glen grew up on the family farm and attended school in Glenwood, graduating with the Class of 1960. Following high school, Glen served in the U.S. Army for 4 years. Upon his honorable discharge, he settled in the Twin Cities, where he raised his family. Glen was employed in management at Control Data Corporation for 25 years. After his retirement, in 1996, he moved back to Glenwood, where he enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing before declining health necessitated a move to Glenwood Retirement Village in 2011.
Glen was a member of the Starbuck VFW. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his sense of humor.
Survivors include his sons, Greg Pederson of Richfield, MN, and Darin Pederson of Oklahoma; his sister, Marvel Braaten of Starbuck; 3 brothers, Larry (Joyce) Pederson of Glenwood, Dale (Judy) Pederson of Lowry, and Arlen (Judy) Pederson of Benson; as well as his former wife, Alberta Gelineau, of Burnsville.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Mearine and Nora Pederson.
