Gwendolyn J. Plutowski Bryce, age 83, of Sauk Centre, and formerly of Glenwood and Golden Valley, died Friday, January 1, 2016 at St. Michael's Nursing Home, in Sauk Centre, MN.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood with Fr. Joe Vandeberg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church the day of the service. Burial and graveside prayers will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 7 ^th , in Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 8151 42 ^nd Ave North, New Hope, MN.  Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Gwendolyn Jane Oliver, daughter of Donald and Odelia (Heiding) Oliver, was born on September 13, 1932, in Milwaukee, WI.  She grew up in Milwaukee where she attended school and graduated from Messmer High School.  On August 17, 1957, she married Joesph Plutowski in Milwaukee.  Their marriage was blessed with two children, Joseph and Jane.  The family made their home in Golden Valley, MN, where Gwen worked for 14 years as a bookkeeper at the gas station that she and Joe owned and later as a bookkeeper for various other businesses including a cinema.  While living in Twin Cities the family attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Golden Valley and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale.

In the late 1970's Gwen and Joe moved to a farm near Glenwood, MN, where they farmed and Gwen worked for the State of Minnesota Highway Department.   Joe passed away in November of 1982.  Gwen remained in the Glenwood area after Joe's death and married Edward Bryce on July 16, 1988.  The two resided near Glenwood.

Gwen enjoyed time spent with family and friends.  She enjoyed going to church, playing cards, traveling, dancing and fishing.  She and Ed were longtime members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood.  Those who knew and loved her will remember her for her strong faith in God and the selfless way she lived and gave of herself to those around her.

Gwen died on Friday, January 1, 2016, at St. Michael Nursing Home, having lived to the age of 83 years.  Blessed be her memory.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Edward Bryce of Glenwood; her son, Joseph (Carolyn) Plutowski of Goodhue, MN; her daughter, Jane Krzesowiak of Plymouth, MN; 5 grandchildren, Mary and Melissa Krzesowiak , Andrea Hiller, Bethany and Leah Plutowski; 7 step-children, Kathleen (Marvin) Meyer, Alan (Pat) Bryce, Daniel (Juana) Bryce, Diane Koubsky, Robert (Joyce) Bryce, Carolyn (Lance) Olijnek, and Patricia Parker; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Kathryn Walin Forsgren, and her brother, Donald (Diane) Oliver, both of Jim Falls, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Odelia Oliver; her first husband, Joseph Plutowski; two brothers-in-law, Duane Walin and Will Forsgren; and a sister-in-law, Ann Oliver.
