Harold O. Strommen, son of Oscar and Mabel (Halvorson) Strommen, was born May 24, 1929 in Glenwood, Minnesota.  He was baptized at Glenwood Lutheran Church, Glenwood, Minnesota, was confirmed at East Zion Lutheran Church, Starbuck, Minnesota and attended country school.  On August 15, 1959, he married Delores Hoium at First Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minnesota.  They made their home in the country south of Glenwood and resided there for 52 years.  In 2013, Delores and Harold moved to Glenwood Estates, Glenwood, Minnesota and in 2014, they moved to Villa Maria Care Center, Fargo, North Dakota.

Harold purchased his first truck in 1955 and began the Strommen Truck Line.   He hauled livestock and freight across state lines.  He took pride in his fleet of trucks and worked hard to keep them looking sharp for the road.  He enjoyed visiting with his many customers while meeting them in the farm yards.  Harold was very involved in 4-H, the county fair, and state fair. A long-time highlight for Harold and Delores was hauling county 4-H livestock to the state fair. In addition, he was active in his church, and accompanied his wife each Sunday to Chippewa Falls and Barsness Lutheran Churches, where she was the organist.

Harold died on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Villa Maria Care Center in Fargo.  Delores died 8 days earlier on January 12, 2016 at the Villa Maria Care Center in Fargo.  They were married 56 years.
