Inez G. Stoneburg, age 88, of Glenwood, MN, died Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 13th, at Glenwood Lutheran Church, with Rev. Krista Lee officiating. Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service. Interment in Glenwood Lutheran Church Cemetery will follow the service. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Inez Grace Alsaker, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Rierson) Alsaker was born May 22, 1934, in Gilchrist Township, Pope County, MN.  She and her four siblings grew up and attended school in Glenwood.

On April 4, 1953, Inez was united in marriage to Darwin Stoneburg of Cyrus.  This marriage was blessed with nine children. Inez and Darwin made their home in the Twin Cities and raised their children there. The two eventually divorced. Inez remained in the Twin Cities until she reached retirement age, at which time she returned to her hometown of Glenwood.

Inez was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years and served as an usher at Glenwood Lutheran Church, where she was a longtime member. She enjoyed dancing, especially the polka, and playing card games. She liked dressing up for costume parties and was active at the Glenwood Senior Center. Inez will be remembered as a loving and fun mother and grandmother. She was an all-around pleasant person, quick to smile and laugh.

Inez had resided at Glenwood Estates since 2019. She passed away there on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, under the care of Moments Hospice.

Inez is survived by her children, Grace (Dale) Gibson of Rochester, Richard (Gail) Stoneburg of Coon Rapids, John Stoneburg of St. Louis Park, Sandra Stoneburg of Minneapolis; Randy Stoneburg of Minneapolis, Susan Harper of New Ulm, Lori Stoneburg of Fargo, ND, and Barb (Robb) Stafford of St. Louis Park; 13grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Mithun of Glenwood; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Darwin Stoneburg, Jr.; a granddaughter, Crystal; her brother, Donald Alsaker; and two sisters, Bernice Mix and Marlys Mithun.
