Obituary

Jacquelyn Rae "Jackie" Johnson, age 57, of Alexandria, MN, died peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at her sister's home in Glenwood, surrounded by family. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10th, at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery will follow the service. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Jacquelyn Rae "Jackie" Thomsen Johnson, daughter of Jack K. and Lynn K. (Strong) Thomsen, was born on February 18, 1962, in Glenwood, MN. She grew up in Glenwood, along with her two sisters, Vicki and Joyce. Jackie was baptized and confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church. She attended Glenwood public school and was a 1980 graduate of Glenwood High School.

Jackie was blessed with a daughter, Emily, who was the love of her life. They made their home in the Alexandria, MN, area.

Jackie had several jobs over the years that involved working with the public, which she really enjoyed. She also was able to experience new opportunities and meet new people all over the United States, which she absolutely loved.

Jackie enjoyed crafting of all sorts, making jewelry, collecting brass items and butterflies. She also loved baking, puzzles, coloring and socializing with her friends.

Jackie is survived by her daughter Emily Johnson of Denver, CO; her two sisters, Vicki Thomsen of Glenwood and Joyce (Scott) McGillivray of Kandiyohi; two nieces and their families, Crystal Thomsen and Megan Thomsen, both of Starbuck; and two nephews and their families, Ian (April) McGillivray and Joshua (Mandi) McGillivray, both of Willmar; as well as other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lynn Thomsen; two nephews, Adam and Timothy Thomsen; and her niece, Shelly White.
