Obituary

Jayne L. Nyhammer, age 56, of Glenwood, MN, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at her home in rural Glenwood following a lengthy battle with cancer.  A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 24th at Glenwood United Parish.  Visitation at the church will begin at noon and run until the time of service.  Inurnment in Lake Ann Cemetery will be in the spring of 2015.  Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood. Jayne Laurie Dalager Nyhammer was born March 16, 1958 to Richard and Patricia (Cooley) Dalager.  She grew up in Glenwood, MN where she graduated from Glenwood High School in 1976.  She attended North Dakota State University and graduated with a degree in agriculture.  After college she joined the Peace Corps and served in Nepal from 1983-1985, which was an experience she treasured and loved to share.  In 2006, she received her MBA from the College of St. Scholastica. Jayne was married to Bradley Nyhammer on August 18, 1986, and their first home was in 'the white house' south of Sedan.  They then settled south east of Terrace where they raised their children Emma and Ty. Jayne had several hobbies including deer hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing, cross country skiing and snow shoeing, camping and bonfires with family and friends, swimming, drawing, painting, writing, genealogy, sewing, and bird watching. She is survived by husband, Bradley; children, Emma (Jared) Jordahl and Ty Nyhammer; grandchildren, Mari and Blayne Jordahl; her parents, Richard and Patricia Dalager; sisters, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Snider and Jennifer Dalager; and a niece, Annie (Dan) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and niece, Katie Evelyn Snider. Jayne will always be remembered for her wonderful stories, dry sense of humor, intellect, organization and attention to detail
