Obituary

Jeanette E. Anderson, age 98, of Glenwood, MN, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Glenwood Village Care Center.  A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, August 22nd at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood, with Rev Ginger Beck officiating.  Inurnment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood. Jeanette was born on June 26, 1916, in Minneapolis, MN to James and Florence (Bolin) Bryant.  At the age of 2 Jeanette went to live with John and Anna (Solhaug) Ingvarson in Starbuck, MN.  She graduated from Starbuck High School in 1932. Jeanette was married to Ralph L. Anderson of Terrace, MN, on August 1, 1935.  They lived in Glenwood, Starbuck, and Terrace, MN, Provo, UT, Harvey and Anamoose, ND, and Barron, WI.  After their retirement, they spent their summers on Duck Lake near Cumberland, WI, and winters in Arizona.  Following Ralph's death in 1995, Jeanette moved back to Cumberland, WI, for a couple of years and then, in 1999, to Glenwood where she lived until her death on August 13, 2014, at the age of 98. Jeanette worked as a Deputy Clerk of Court in Pope County, MN, for 5 years.  Ralph and Jeanette also ran a small gas station and café in Glenwood.  She worked in Wisconsin for Barron Retinning & Custom Steps as a bookkeeper. Jeanette loved playing bridge and card games with her family.  She was also very lucky playing Bingo.  She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader and was a member of the Odd Fellows, the Glenwood VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Glenwood United Parish. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph and her brother, Raymond Bryant of New Mexico. Jeanette is survived by her four children, Richard (Donna) Anderson, Judy (Richard) Vegoe, and Bryant Anderson, all of Glenwood, and Mamie (Gary) Landsworth of Cameron, WI; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
