Joanne Rost, age 79 of Glenwood, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 at her home.  A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4 ^th at Calvary Lutheran Church in Glenwood.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be in West Lake Amelia Cemetery in rural Villard.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Joanne Darlene (Wild) Rost was born on August 13th 1936 in Lyon County, Marshall MN.  She is the daughter of Ezra and Evelyn Holley Wild.  She was baptized on Oct 11th 1936 and confirmed in the Christian faith in the spring of 1949.  Joanne grew up in Marshall MN until her family moved to a farm near Westport MN in 1950. She graduated from Villard High School in 1954. Joanne was united in marriage to Alivn Rost on Sept 16 1955, and lived near Westport where Alvin farmed in partnership with his brother until 1988. Joanne and Alvin had two daughters Pamela and Patricia, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.  Because of her husband's failing health in 1988, Joanne and Alvin moved to an apartment in Glenwood MN.   Joanne and Alvin shared 39 years of marriage before Alvin passed away in 1995.  Joanne remained in her apartment in Glenwood until her death.

Joanne enjoyed working at the Glenwood BenFranklin before her marriage.  During their marriage Joanne's time was spent helping on the farm.  She enjoyed her work at Glenwood hospital and was a busy volunteer, including school, church and Hospice.  She enjoyed social gatherings, movies, music, quilting, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her two daughters, Pamela (Steven) Person of Villard and Patricia (Scott) Plaisance of Blaine; 4 grandchildren: Sara Person, Cole Person, Caleb (Stephanie) Person and Eric (Marie) Plaisance; 3 great grandchildren Conner and Jace Person and Calvin Plaisance; two sisters, Janice (Merle) Cavier of Hopkins, Virginia Mager of Circle Pines; brother, Darwin Wild of Hibbing; and many nieces and nephews.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parent, Ezra and Evelyn; her husband Alvin; two brother and sister in laws, Lloyd and Luella Rost and Arthur and Delorse Rost.
