Obituary

Joyce L. Logan, age 73 of Lowry, died Saturday, April 10, 2021 surrounded by her children in the comfort of home. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 15th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Visitation will continue from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood with Father Joe Vandeberg officiating. The use of masks and social distancing will be in place at the funeral home and church. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Glenwood. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Joyce Linda Logan, the daughter of John Leslie and Violet Bernice (Brew) Poole was born August 8, 1947 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She grew up with her five siblings in Red Lake Falls, and later Watertown, SD where she graduated from Watertown High School in 1970. After high school, Joyce furthered her education at Lake Area Vocational Technical College in the dental laboratory program.

On May 27, 1977 Joyce was united in marriage to Roger Logan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood. When the couple was married they joined families and made their home in Lowry. Joyce worked for Glacial Hills Elementary in Starbuck for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved playing cards, bowling, putting together puzzles, crossword puzzles and reading. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by children: Michael (Kerri) Logan of Pillager, MN, Tammy (Craig) Schwinghamer of Sauk Centre, James Logan of Alexandria, Roger (Jen) Logan of Morris, Lance (Danielle) Logan of Donnelly, and Scott (Barb) Logan of Fergus Falls; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; her sister, Gloria (Harlan) Kremer of Hastings, MN; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger in 2016; siblings, Shirley Hince, Douglas Poole, Elizabeth "Betty" Freske, and her twin brother John Poole II.
