Karen M. Velde, age 57 of Glenwood, died Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.  A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursay, June 9th at Barsness Lutheran Church in rural Glenwood with Pastor Bonnie Lomen officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Barsness Lutheran Cemetery.

Karen Marie Velde, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Tillotson/Swenson) Velde was born October 27, 1958 in Glenwood, Minnesota.  She grew up in Glenwood and Villard.  As a child she attended Barsness Lutheran Church.

Karen enjoyed coloring, country music, puzzles and spending time with her family.  She passed away June 3, 2016 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.

Karen is survived by her dear son, Chad Velde of Glenwood; grandchildren, Ava and Alexis Velde; her long-time partner, Gary Swigert of Glenwood; siblings, Julie (Mary) Velde; Jay (Sandy) Velde; Larry Velde, Brenda Velde, Linda Velde; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Roger, David and Bonnie.
