Keith R. Fischer, age 80 of Detroit Lakes, formerly of Glenwood died peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.  A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18th at the Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Ozanne officiating.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Keith Richard Fischer, son of William and Oline (Hegg) Fischer was born November 30, 1934 in Glenwood MN.  He graduated from Glenwood High School in 1954.  Keith excelled in sports at Glenwood High.  He was an All-State halfback in football and competed successfully in track at the state level.  Keith served in the US Navy for four years and was honorably discharged in 1963.  Keith lived a life of Christian service.  His faith was a great source of comfort and joy in his life.  His Bible was his most prized possession. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William (Bunny) Fischer. He is survived by his brother Henry (Betty) Fischer of Detroit Lakes MN, his sister Kathleen Probst of Indianapolis IL, his sister-in-law Sandra Fischer of Pilager MN and 11 nieces and nephews.
