Larry Kuseske, age 71, of Villard, MN, died Saturday, October 15, 2016, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Pope County. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Villard, with Rev. Philip Beyersdorf officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home in Glenwood and will continue on Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Larry Kuseske, the son of Ervin and Velma (Fischer) Kuseske, was born December 11, 1944 in St. Cloud, MN. He grew up on the family farm near Villard, with his sister and two brothers. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and attended Villard Public School, graduating with the class of 1962. From there he went on to attend North Dakota State University, in Fargo, ND, earning a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Larry began his engineering career building flood retention dams across northeastern North Dakota. He was united in marriage to Susan Throlson on September 3, 1966 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sheyenne, ND. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Mark, Brian, Dawn, Nathan and Andrea. The family made their home in various towns across North Dakota before settling in Larimore, where they lived just prior to returning to the Kuseske family farm near Villard, MN in 1981. For the next 35 years, Larry raised crops and tended to his dairy cattle, while Susan taught school in Sauk Centre, MN.

Larry loved to be involved in his community and provided many hours of service as a school board member, watershed district board member, 4-H volunteer and state board member for the State watershed. His hobbies included woodworking, collecting coins, sports and farm memorabilia, rocks, and artwork.

Larry loved being outdoors and working on the farm.  He enjoyed the freedom of being self-employed. He certainly loved his family, particularly spending time with his grandkids and sharing his love of all things outdoors and his hobbies.

Larry died on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the age of 71 years, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in rural Pope County. He will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his mother, Velma Kuseske of Villard; his wife of 50 years, Susan of Villard; three sons, Mark (Jennifer) of Hutchinson, Brian of Becker, and Nathan (Carrie) of Andover; two daughters, Dawn (Brad) Wampole of Andover and Andrea (Ken Delecki) Kuseske of Minnetonka; eight grandchildren: Tristan, Patrick, Zachary, Harrison, Jackson, Isibele, Haleigh, and Alexander; two brothers, Allan (Kathy) Kuseske of Glenwood and Randy (Pokcha) Kuseske of Rochester; a brother-in-law, Ron Throlson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ervin Kuseske, his sister, RoxAnn (Kuseske) Glasson, a sister-in-law, Cheryl Throlson; and his grandparents.
