Lillian Koubsky, age 92 of Glenwood, died Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the Glenwood Retirement Village. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood with Father Joe Vandeberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. John Nepomuk Catholic Cemetery in rural Lowry. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Lillian Helen Koubsky, the daughter of Joseph W. and Antonia (Pronek) Koubsky was born October 22, 1925 at home in Reno Township, Pope County, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm by Lake Ann in Reno Township and attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and District #19 country school.
Lill was employed at Coast to Coast in Glenwood before moving to Minneapolis with her sister, Antonia "Babe". After moving to Minneapolis Lill and Babe both worked at Sears for over 36 years. In 1996, the sisters retired and moved back to Glenwood.
Lill enjoyed baking, camping, carpentry projects, painting and her favorite was bird watching. She especially loved to travel and has taken many of her siblings and nieces and nephews on her adventures around the United States, visiting all 49 states, excluding Hawaii. She will be remembered as a loving caregiver who was welcoming to not only family, but anyone who was in need. She and Babe would host Thanksgiving for their whole family in their home in Minneapolis. She was a wonderful sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed.
Lillian is survived by her, brother-in-law, Richard Kaminski of Richfield; sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Elaine and Karen Koubsky all of Glenwood; nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antonia Koubsky; brothers: Frank, Charles, George and Joseph (Janet "Hon") Koubsky and sisters: Mary Kaminski and Antonia "Babe" Koubsky.
