Lillian C. Buchholz, age 98, of Glenwood, MN, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Glenwood Retirement Village. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 19th, at All Saint's Chapel, with Rev. Ginger Beck officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Glenwood and will continue one hour prior to the service at All Saint's Chapel. Interment will be in Lake Amelia Cemetery, Villard, MN. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Lillian Cornelia Pladson, was born at home on December 24, 1915, the fourth of six children of Edward and Randi (Fosse) Pladson. She grew up helping out on the family farm and attended country school before graduating from Brooten High School. On August 3, 1936, Lillian was united in marriage to Clarence J. Buchholz. The couple made their first home in Minneapolis. During WWII, Clarence entered the U. S. Navy, and Lillian and their children went to live with her parents until Clarence was honorably discharged. After his return, they made their home in Glenwood before building a home on Lake Villard. Clarence died on September 30, 1984. Following his death, Lillian moved to a townhouse in Villard, where she lived until November 1, 2011, when she became a resident of Glenwood Retirement Village.
Lillian enjoyed reading, watching birds, baking and playing cards. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Villard.
Lillian is survived by two sons, Don (Norma) of Little Rock, AR, Jim (Cathy) of Detroit Lakes, MN; a daughter, Janet "Jan" (Brian) Johnson also of Detroit Lakes, MN; a sister, Juanita Hanson of Brooten, MN; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence in 1984; and all four of her brothers, Burton, Clifford, Edmund and Arnold.
