Marcia Kniss, age 76 of Alexandria, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15 ^th at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at a later date in the Evergreen cemetery in Alexandria.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Marcia Kay Kniss, the daughter of Michael and Edna (Brandvold) Kniss was born September 24, 1940 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.  She grew up in Alexandria where she attended school and graduated from high school.  After high school, Marcia furthered her education at Brown Institute in Minneapolis.  She then made her home in the Alexandria and Glenwood area.

Marcia loved her family and will be remembered for her caring nature and her love of the outdoors.

She is survived by daughters: Susan (Greene) Hirschey and her husband David of Delano, MN and Nancy (Greene) Iverslie and her husband Karl of Plymouth; grandchildren: Nathan Hirschey and wife, Nikki, Jacob Hirschey and wife Jane, and Erin (Hirschey) Wolff and her husband, Ian; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Paige, Morgan, Jacob Jr., and Holland; and brother, Michael Kniss and wife, Marlys of Barrett, MN.

Marcia is preceded in death by her parents.
