Margarete G. "Schatzi" Viergutz, 90, of Glenwood, MN passed away, Wednesday afternoon, August 27th at the Glenwood Retirement Village, where she had resided the past 5 years. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 29th at the All Saint's Chapel in the Glenwood Retirement Village.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.   Inurnment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Margarete Gretel Viergutz, was born on September 28, 1923 in Erlangen, Bavaria, Germany.  She was the daughter of the late Johann Lohmueller and Marie Lohmueller nee Mueller. Schatzi married Dennis V. Viergutz of Echo MN. on April 3, 1959, in Nurnberg while Mr. Viergutz was stationed in Germany serving in the US Army.  Upon returning to the United States, they settled in Glenwood. Schatzi was of the Catholic faith. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting and making crafts, which she sold at many of the local craft fairs. Survivors: Grandsons, Jeremy and Troy Wagner, son-in law, Bob Wagner residing in Pottstown, PA. brother and sister-in laws, as well as, many nieces and nephews all in Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Dennis (2005) and daughter Rosemarie (2012). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
