Obituary

Marion Fahl, age 88, of Morris, MN, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Barrett Care Center in Barrett, MN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, at Nora Lutheran Church of Kensington with Pastor Irv Arnquist officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.  Burial will be in Nora Cemetery.

Marion Viola Fahl, daughter of Henry and Inga (Larson) Wilberg, was born in Nora Township, Pope County, Minnesota, on October 11, 1926. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Nora Lutheran Church in Kensington and graduated from Kensington High School before completing a business course at the West Central School of Agriculture in Morris.

Marion married Harold Fahl of Benson on October 27, 1950. They began their 61 years of marriage in Benson before moving to Fargo, North Dakota in 1956, Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1962 and to Morris, Minnesota in 1968, where they stayed until Harold's retirement in 1993.

Before her marriage, Marion worked at Glenwear in Glenwood.  Later she managed a Betty Gay store in Fargo, and was a leading salesperson for Buttreys' clothing and Sears department store in Sioux Falls. While living in Morris, she bought and ran the well-known Ernst shop, selling ladies' clothes and specialty gifts for 17 years.

Marion enjoyed entertaining family and friends, gardening and dancing with her husband. In her younger years, Marion was active in her church Circles, Ladies Aid, and teaching Sunday school and Bible School.

Marion is survived by her children, David (Alyson) Fahl of Houston, Texas, and Pam (George) Thompson of Watertown, SD; her granddaughters, Corrine (Cliff) Fahl Hebner and Katherine (Ryan) Hardee; her sister, Laverne (Don) Olson of Hoffman, MN; one brother, Oran Wilberg of Kensington, MN; and a sister-in-law, Betty Wilberg of Barrett, MN.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; two brothers, Floyd and Roy Wilberg; and a sister-in-law Ella Wilberg.
