Marjorie, the daughter of Wencil and Theresa (Tvrdik) Trousil, was born at home on February 1, 1927 in Douglas County, Lake Mary Township, Minnesota. Marjorie was baptized as an infant at St. John Nepomuk near Lake Reno, and was a lifetime member of the church. She attended District 14 school and then stayed home to work on the family farm, where she gardened, mowed lawn, milked cows, shocked grain, husked corn, and learned to sew, embroider, knit, and quilt.

On October 11, 1949, Marjorie was united in marriage to Bennie Kalina at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. The two made their home on Bennie's family farm and their marriage was blessed with three sons, Duane, Alan, and Galen. In addition to raising their family, Marjorie was Bennie's partner on the farm, milking cows, feeding pigs and chickens, and helping with baling hay. After her family was raised, she also babysat her grandsons. In 1993, the two moved to a neighboring farm, where they raised beef cattle. Marjorie and Bennie shared 66 years and 2 days of marriage before Bennie's death on October 13, 2015. Marjorie remained on the farm for two more years and then moved to the Glen Terrace Townhomes in Glenwood, where she resided until the time of her death.

In 1996, Marjorie and Bennie traveled to the Czech Republic with Bennie's cousins, where they enjoyed sight-seeing and staying with relatives that still lived there. They also made two trips to Montana to visit Galen in Belgrade, and cousins in Polson.

Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandsons will always fondly remember the many days spent with Grandma Marjorie playing ball, snow sledding, bike riding, reading, having outdoor picnics, and more. Blessed be her memory.

Marjorie is survived by two sons, Duane (Lorie) of Alexandria, Galen of Belgrade, MT; a daughter-in-law, Van Kalina of Garfield; three grandsons, Jesse of Alexandria, and Bryan and Scott of Valley City, ND; great-granddaughter, Allana Kalina; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie in 2015; a son, Alan in 2006; grandsons, Aaron and Benjamin; a brother, Raymond Trousil and his wife, Dorothy.
