Marlys D. McDonough, age 75 of Glenwood, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31 ^st at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Chapel in Glenwood.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Brooten.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home.

Marlys Delphine McDonough, the daughter of Andrew and Mabel (Jensen) Clausen was born August 8, 1940 at home in Brooten, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lake Johanna area.  She graduated from Brooten High School in 1958 and went on to St. Cloud Beauty College where she received her cosmetology license in 1959.  Marlys was united in marriage to Eugene McDonough on November 28, 1959 in Iowa.  They lived in south Minneapolis, Columbia Heights, Georgeville, Brooten and then settled down on their farm in Glenwood in 1971.

Marlys loved crocheting, knitting, helping on the farm, playing bingo with her friends and mostly spending time with her family. She was especially happy to have passed down her lefse tradition to her granddaughters.

Marlys is survived by her husband, Eugene of 55 years; children: Debra McDonough of Bloomington, Dan (Lisa) of Belgrade, DeAnna (Merf) Andersen of Terrace; stepdaughter Gina McDonough of Eagan, seven grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and another expected in September; one sister; 3 brothers and several nieces and nephews.

Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
