She attended schools in Pipestone, Carlos, and Alexandria. She later continued her education at Alexandria Technical College obtaining her certificate for Certified Nursing Assistant.
On August 14, 1976, Marsha married the love of her life, Lonnie Armstrong, in Alexandria and raised three beautiful children, Sharon, Dan and Michael. They were also blessed with six amazing grandchildren.
Marsha was a compassionate and caring woman, who devoted many years as a CNA at Glenwood nursing home, home health aide and homemaker for Pope County. She cared for family members for many years. She also worked alongside her husband in the shop building a very successful business. She was an active member of the Women's VFW Auxiliary, was one of the founders of the Pope County Hospice Ride for a Cause, and a generous contributor to the American Red Cross as a blood donor.
Marsha loved her flowers, bird watching, fishing, baking, scrapbooking, but especially spending time with her grandchildren. Her love for baking always meant family and friends always had goodies to eat. She took pride in her flowers, plants and a very tidy house. Marsha's selfless love and support for her family will be a treasured memory. She cherished and loved her grandchildren, calling their pictures above the fireplace her wall of fame. She was always the strongest person in many situations, always remaining stoic.
