Marvin Duane McCrory, the son of Roland and Marguerite (Hegg) McCrory was born February 10, 1946 in Glenwood, Minnesota. He grew up on the McCrory family farm and attended the Reno Reformed Presbyterian Church. He attended school in Glenwood and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1964. After high school, Marv furthered his education at Alexandria Technical College and received a degree in farm equipment mechanics. Marvin was employed by various farmers in the Glenwood area. Most recently, he worked with his brothers at the McCrory family farm.
Marv loved watching and reading about professional, college and high school sports, especially basketball. He will be remembered for his kind heart, physical strength and his strong work ethic. Marv passed away April 15, 2016 at home.
He is survived by his sisters: Eileen (Al) Wanous, Linda (Al) Egerstrom, Sharon (Paul) Dykhuis and Karen (Dennis) Demulling; brothers: James (Mary), Donald (Eileen), Gerald (Sue), Alan (Mary Ellen), Lyle and Daniel McCrory.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ken McCrory.
A private family graveside service will be held at Lake Reno Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery in rural Glenwood. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
