Nancy Baker, age 63 of Brooten, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017, unexpectedly at home.  Funeral services will be Monday, July 31, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten, with Pastor Stephen Bovendam officiating. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Brooten and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Brooten.

Nancy Kay Baker, the daughter of Kenneth and Eldora (Evenson) Wallin, was born August 25, 1953 in Lead, South Dakota. She grew up in Brooten, Minnesota, where she attended school and graduated from Brooten High School in 1971.

On July 15, 1972, Nancy was united in marriage to Mike Baker in Watertown, South Dakota. They made their home on a farm near Brooten and were blessed with two children. Nancy and Mike just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary eleven days before her death. Nancy was a loving homemaker and helped Mike with his trucking bookwork. She enjoyed watching the Vikings and Twins and taking care of her dogs. She also enjoyed camping, traveling, cooking, and watching all the wildlife around her yard. Nancy especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of visiting with people and her family. Nancy passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on July 26, 2017 at home.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Baker of Brooten; daughter, Melissa (Tom) Revermann of Melrose, MN; daughter-in-law, Angie Baker of Osakis, MN; grandchildren: Tyler (Dani Esch) Revermann, Anthony, Madison and Connor Revermann and Jeran Baker; other relatives and friends.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Jeremy Baker in 2009.
