Nancy S. Zimmerman, age 58, of Glenwood, MN, died Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Glenwood Village Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 11 ^th , at Glenwood United Parish, with Pastor Laura Nordstrom officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home in Glenwood and will resume on Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenwood. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Nancy Sue Zimmerman was born in Glenwood, MN, on February 5, 1958. She was one of eight children born to Harley and Janet (Berg) Zimmerman. Nancy grew up in Glenwood and attended Glenwood High School. She and her life-long companion, Tim Claussen, were blessed with a son, Blaize.  They made their home in the Glenwood area.  During this time, Nancy worked at the Glenwood Care Center for 20 years.   Nancy's hobbies included baking, gardening and she took pride in caring for her large yard at the farm.  She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Nancy suffered with diabetes for several years which eventually caused complications that made it necessary for her receive nursing home care. She was first a resident at Lakeview Good Samaritan in Glenwood and most recently at Glenwood Village Care Center. She passed away there early Saturday morning, August 6, 2016, at the age of 58 years.

Nancy is survived by her mother, Jan Zimmerman; life-long companion, Tim Claussen of Glenwood; their son, Blaize (Terri) Zimmerman of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren, Cody, Jadi, and Ashton; a sister, Debbie (Rich) Pederson; six brothers, Jerry (Ruth) of Menominee, WI, Rick of Minneapolis, Scott (Misty) of Green River, WY, Steven (Dawn) of Minneapolis, Robyn of Crested Butte, CO, and Kelly (Heather) of Rochester; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harley Zimmerman.
