Patricia R. Boerboom, age 88 of St. Augusta, MN, formerly of the Glenwood/Villard area, died Monday, November 21, 2016 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 25 ^th at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Villard.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Patricia Rose (McKay) Boerboom, the daughter of James J. and Jenny (Grogan) McKay was born on April 12, 1928 in Marshall, MN. She grew up in the city of Marshall, MN, where her family attended Holy Redeemer Church. She attended school at St Joseph's Academy and graduated from Marshall High School in 1946. After high school, Patricia was employed at First National Bank in Marshall for 2 years where she worked as a teller.  She was united in marriage to Harold J. Boerboom on June 8, 1950 in Marshall. To this union, came 5 children. In their early married life they made their home in Marshall and then, in 1959, they moved to Minneapolis where they lived for 15 years before moving to the suburb of Bloomington in 1974. In 1984, they moved to their lake home on Lake Amelia to be near their son, Tom, and his family. Pat and Harold eventually started spending winters in Florida, near their youngest daughter, Debbie, and her family.

Patricia made a lovely home where she enjoyed many crafts, sewing clothes for the family, cooking, and making things for the home. Patricia and Harold loved to travel and enjoyed ballroom dancing. She enjoyed playing the organ. Her passion though was reading and whether it was a paperback or her Kindle, she always had a good book at her side.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Colleen) Boerboom of Villard; two daughters, Kathleen (Mark) Low of Savage, and Deborah (Greg) Solum of Ft. Myers, FL; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Veronia McKay, Lois Regnier and Theresa (Robert) Hoffman; and a brother, John (Darlene) McKay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold in 2015; and two daughters Pamela (Mrs. Steve) Gligor and Patricia (Mrs. Grant) Torfin.

She will be remembered for her kind and loving heart, beautiful smile and persevering faith.  She cherished time with family and loved well.
