Patrick M. Casperson, age 61, of Ashby, formerly of Glenwood, died August 1, 2026, at Galeon in Osakis, MN. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 7th at Glenwood Lutheran Church with Rev. Krista Lee officiating. Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood.

Patrick Marshall Casperson was born on February 17, 1965, in Fort Hood, Texas, to Paul J. and Patricia (Sakalowski) Casperson. He grew up in Milwaukee, WI, and Browerville, MN. Pat graduated from Browerville High School in 1983 and went on to attend St. Cloud State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance in 1987. He later continued to build on his professional knowledge by earning his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation during his career in insurance. He was proud of his education and the opportunities it gave him, and he used his skills to provide a comfortable life for his family.

On August 22, 1987, Pat married Sonia Olson at Glenwood Lutheran Church in Glenwood. Following their marriage, they made their home in Grinnell, IA, where he worked for Grinnell Mutual for five years before returning to Minnesota. Pat and his family lived in Anoka and Elk River before settling in Glenwood in 2004. He worked for several insurance companies over the years, including Allied and Continental Western Group. In 2024, Patrick moved to Ashby, where he worked various jobs.

Pat enjoyed deer hunting, duck and goose hunting, fishing, boating, and watching sports. He appreciated the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life, and he found happiness in time spent with family and friends. He will be remembered as a funny, intelligent, and generous man whose presence made a difference in the lives of others.

Pat worked hard over the years and was a solid provider for his family. In addition, he could always be counted on to make time for those he loved and to lend a helping hand. Pat passed away at the age of 61 years on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Galeon in Osakis under the care of CentraCare Hospice following a lengthy illness.

Patrick is survived by his daughter, Courtney (Patrick) Killacky of Glenwood; his son, Collin Casperson of Glenwood; his former wife, Sonia Casperson of Glenwood; and his 10 siblings, Pamela Miller, Patrice (Buck) Saeger, Paul Casperson, Page (Chuck) VanZee, Perry (Vaye) Casperson, Phil (Denise) Casperson, Peter Casperson, Preston (Pearl) Casperson, Robert (Joan) Casperson, and Paula (Chuck) Waller; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Casperson and Patricia Sakalowski.
